The City Attorney's Office provides legal
counsel and advice to the City Manager, City Council, and all departments,
boards, and commissions of the City of Paris.
Services provided include preparation and review of ordinances, resolutions,
contracts, deeds, liens, and other legal documents. Formal and informal
opinions are given on questions of law pertaining to City operations.
The Municipal Court Prosecutor is responsible for prosecuting all actions in
the Municipal Court and providing legal advice to the Police
Department. The department furnishes a variety of legal services
relating to code enforcement, zoning and land use regulations, traffic and parking
control, bond sales, and other matters requiring legislative action or
involving interpretation and application of laws.
Additionally, the department is actively involved in claims administration
under the City's program for liability and fleet liability.
