Is the City responsible for trimming the trees around the utility lines ?
Utility companies such as TXU Electric and Gas are responsible for trimming limbs and brush around the electric lines and hauling them off the property. It is helpful if residents phone these in year-round to help avoid unnecessary outages due to limbs falling on the electric lines.
What happens to the trash thrown in the storm drains ?
Most residents mistakenly believe that storm drains flow to water treatment plants. As a result, residents throw trash, chemicals, debris and oil into the storm drains, causing blockage within the drains and polluting the quality of our ground water. Although the State of Texas maintains major thoroughfares such as Clarksville St. and Lamar Ave. it is the responsibility of the City to keep the drainage ditches clear of debris.
