Does the Street Division clear streets if weather causes damage to outlining trees ?
In the event of severe weather the Street Department provides clearance of the debris (brush and limbs) for motorists and emergency transports. Please keep in mind, the Street Division’s goal is to clear each property owner’s debris from the streets, not transport the debris to various locations. Although a property owner’s brush and limbs may fall onto the streets, it is the responsibility of the property owner to transport the brush and limbs or call the Sanitation Division to request a pick up.
How do potholes develop?
Potholes are caused when the pavement or the material beneath it, referred to as base, subbase, or foundation, buckles due to the weight of the traffic it carries. The two main contributors to this problem are weight and water. The water joins forces with the weight of traffic and causes weakening in the base. Water present under the base of pavement may be due to a water leak, therefore, reporting potholes to the City not only helps in maintaining City streets, but can also assist in identifying other problems.

To report a pothole on a city street please call 784-9266.
