Water and Wastewater Treatment

The Utilities Department protects the health of the citizens we serve by properly treating and storing drinking water and treating wastewater before it is returned to the environment. The City of Paris Water and Wastewater Treatment plants operate under permits from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).

Superior Public Water Supply

The City of Paris is designated as a Superior Public Water Supply System by the TCEQ, the highest designation available.

Annual Chemical Bids

The Utilities Department typically receives bids for chemicals used in the water and wastewater treatment processes in late Spring of each year. Any company that would like to receive bid documents when available should contact the Utilities Secretary at 903-784-2464. The most recent water and wastewater chemical bid tabulation document is available here.

Lead and Copper Rule

The City of Paris meets all of the EPA standards for lead in water and continues to be well below the state and federal action levels for lead. The City protects drinking water quality for all customers and actively minimizes any risk of lead. Learn more about the EPA Lead and Copper Rule.
