1. When is a building permit required?

A building permit is required to erect, construct, enlarge, add to, alter, repair, replace, improve, remove, install, or maintain any structure or building.

This includes accessory buildings such as storage sheds; garages or car ports, etc; and fences.

The fee for a permit is based on the total cost of labor and materials.

2. How long does it take to obtain a permit?

Applications for all nature of permits are reviewed as quickly as possible. However, depending on the number of applications pending review and their complexity, it may take up to fourteen business days to issue a permit if no changes to the plans are required.
