Warnings about weather are communicated to our citizens by several different methods. The City of Paris uses CodeRED to issue information by voice over a telephone, text messaging and e-mail. Citizens are encouraged to sign up for the service by clicking here. NWS weather warnings are sent out automatically by CodeRED whenever a warning involves the City of Paris. Outdoor warning sirens are used to notify people outside of their homes that severe weather is occurring. Upon hearing an outdoor siren, citizens should go indoors and listen to our local electronic media or scanners. The city also uses a service provided by SuddenLink communications. SuddenLink allows city officials the ability to take over the local cable system for emergency messages.
